How to tune a PID controller for temperature control?

I'm working on a temperature control system for a reactor. What's the best approach to tune the PID parameters?

For temperature control, I recommend starting with the Ziegler-Nichols method. Set I and D to zero, increase P until oscillation, then use the tuning formulas.
